GIVING BACK!!

Hey everybody! I hope everyone had an awesome Memorial Day!!!! Now, down to business!!

After watching Oprah's surprise farewell, I cried. Okay, okay, okay...I cried a few times. It was just THAT good! To see the impact she's made in the world is mind blowing. I was utterly amazed at witnessing her accomplishments. Her humility and passion was so touching! She truly inspired me to be a better person and woman.

So here goes...

I realized (thankyou Lord) that I am blessed to be a blessing. God blesses me, to bless others, for His glory and for my good. He uses His children to help others. As a woman of God, I am to be the Jesus some people never see. I'm supposed to be the smile a stranger sees from leaving out of a stressful workplace. I'm supposed to be the giver to the homeless when everybody walks by.

Now, its time to do just that. Give back. I want to change people's lives. Sooo....

As a single mother, who knows the struggles of being a single mother, a student, and a working woman. IT. IS. NOT. EASY. And it takes a special kind of woman to juggle all these roles. There's nothing single about us! I know what it feels like to have to find a sitter just to take midterm, lack of a social life, 4 a.m. wake up calls, last minute sick days, and trying to study while being thrown up on...just to name a few!

But God blessed me. I had my son my sophmore year, took off two quarters of school, returned to my school (The Ohio State University, whoop whoop!), brought my baby back WITH me, and still graduated in 4 years with a 3.5 GPA! Ain't He good?

It those very women, women like me, African American student single mothers who I have a special place in my heart for. And that's who I want to help.

So in connection with my non-profit organization

Check Me Out!!!!

I had the pleasure of hosting the 33rd annual African American heritage Festival MUSE Film Fest at my Alma mater, THEE Ohio State University this past month!

As a film maker, I was ecstatic to make my return with notable experience, education and successes under my belt! I had fun spending time with my fellow Buckeyes, and I can't wait to go back again! All 3 films were phenomenal, all produced by minority women, too! I'm so proud of everyone!

Go Bucks!

Had to go visit the new Student Union too and visit my good ole` buddy Brutus!! :o)
